Hot off the success of his latest release, Magna Carta… Holy Grail, which managed to sell over a million copies in its first week before being released thanks to a partnership with Samsung, rap mogul and “not a business man, I’m a business, man” Jay-Z took to Twitter for a five hour back and forth banter with fans. In the same vein as Madonna’s interaction upon the release of her 2012 MDNA, the publicity served more as a lighthearted reason to communicate through social media than it did for any sort of journalistic content.
Sure, Mr. Carter mentioned that Timbaland was a huge inspiration on the new release, stated Reasonable Doubt, Blueprint Part 1, and The Black Album being his best works. But, mainly let the world know that “Toxic” is his favorite Britney Spears song, you could hear his laugh through the hashtag #mylaugh, and wants Miley Cyrus to #twerkmileytwerk.
